Andy Serkis säger att skådespelare inte längre ser ner på att ta en roll i ett TV-spel

På precis samma vis som fler och fler stora skådespelare började ta roller i TV-serier, så är skådespelaren Andy Serkis övertygad om att "snobberiet" kring att inte vilja ta en roll i ett TV-spel långsamt är på väg att försvinna.

Serkis kanske är mest känd för världen som en viss figur i Sagan om Ringen och Hobbit-filmerna. Men han har även har gjort rösten i ett flertal TV-spel. Senast i den enorma succén Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

I en intervju med Variety så sade Serkis kring att ta en roll i ett spel: "I don't see any difference in that or acting in films, on stage, or TV. It's exactly the same; you approach and build a character the same way. My first engagement with video games was with a company called Ninja Theory, and we made a game called Heavenly Sword for PS3. At that point, actors looked down on video games as like, 'I wouldn't get involved in a video game'. Now, young actors coming out of drama schools, and they're like, I really want to be in a video game."

Stora namn har de senaste åren lockats till just att ta en roll i ett spel. Vi har bland annat sett Keanu Reeves och Idris Elba i Cyberpunk 2077 och Andy Serkis fick ju sällskap av bland annat Daredevil-stjärnan Charlie Cox i just Expedition 33.

Serkis sade vidare: "There has always been that snobbery about video games not being anywhere near filmmaking. But that's all changing and certainly looking into the future when we have more immersive storytelling, which is what's happening."

Han passar även på att hylla just Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: "What a video game, and I'm so thrilled with how it turned out for these guys because I love the idea of it, but I love the visuals of it. I thought it was beautiful. I am so thrilled for their success. [...] It's such an emotional story for a video game, and it just looks extraordinary, and the music in it is so powerful."
